K's Kare Givers is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. This policy outlines our commitment to preventing accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses.
1. Employer Responsibilities
Management is responsible for:
- Providing adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities.
- Consulting with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety.
- Providing and maintaining safe equipment.
- Ensuring safe handling and use of substances.
- Providing information, instruction, and supervision for employees.
- Ensuring all employees are competent to do their tasks, and giving them adequate training.
2. Employee Responsibilities
All employees have a duty to:
- Co-operate with supervisors and managers on health and safety matters.
- Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their health and safety.
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety, and report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately, whether they occur in the office, during transit, or in a client's home.
3. Infection Control
Given the nature of home care, strict adherence to infection control protocols is required. Employees must practice proper hand hygiene, utilize required PPE, and follow procedures for handling potential biohazards as detailed in their training.
4. Emergency Procedures
Employees must familiarize themselves with emergency procedures, both for the main office and tailored for individual client homes. This includes understanding what to do in case of a medical emergency involving a client, a fire, or other critical situations.
